Our Pastors

The Reverends Hayes are college sweethearts, spirit-mates, and partners in life and ministry. They are the proud parents of three Kingdom purposed young adults: Shante’ Venice (David), Shannon Kellene (DaRon) and Joshua Imani. They are also the proud grandparents of Lyric Melinda and Tehila Brittany Jade.

 

The Reverend Harold B. Hayes, Jr. was born and raised in Philadelphia, Pa. Reverend Kellie Hayes was born and raised in Cleveland, Ohio. They are both products of the public schools in their respective hometowns. The Reverends Hayes are alumni of Hampton University in Hampton, Virginia; Rev. Harold B. Hayes, Jr. continued his education at Howard University School of Divinity, receiving a Masters of Divinity degree in May of 1992 and at present is a Holistic Life Coach Doctoral candidate.  Rev. Kellie Hayes received a Masters of Theological Studies degree from Wesley Theological Seminary in May of 1997, and is now a certified Life Coach and has completed the certificate program in the Foundations of Christian Leadership program at Duke Divinity School. The Reverends Hayes pledged Kappa Alpha Psi (Harold) and Delta Sigma Theta (Kellie) in the Spring of 1982. Together they have founded H & K Global Enterprises, dedicated to transformation coaching to empower couples, and individuals to walk in purpose and power; and leadership and community development.

 

The Reverends Hayes acknowledged and accepted their calls to preach/teach the gospel at Ebenezer African Methodist Episcopal Church in Fort Washington, Maryland, under the dynamic and spirit-filled leadership of the Reverends Doctors Grainger and JoAnn Browning. While at Ebenezer, they served as the Senior Minister, and Assistant Minister to Youth; they were responsible for directing, training and implementing programs for over 1500 young people and adult youth volunteers.  Both Rev. Harold and Kellie Hayes are ordained Elders in the African Methodist Episcopal Church, serving in the Washington Conference of the Second Episcopal District.  Rev. Harold Hayes serves as the Senior Pastor of Hunter Memorial AME Church in Suitland, MD.  Rev. Harold B.  Hayes, Jr. also serves on the Board of Examiners and Instructors as well as a Conference Trustee and the Assistant Treasurer of the Washington Annual Conference.  Rev. Kellie Hayes serves as the Executive Pastor of Hunter Memorial, the Director of Kingdom Women Ministries and recently launched LifeVision Transformation Coaching & Consulting.

 

In January of 1993 the Reverends Hayes and family planted New Liberation A.M.E. Church in Landover, Maryland.  In October 2000, they were appointed to the historic Hunter Memorial AME Church in Suitland, Maryland. The Hayes’ are blessed to serve this faithful community of believers, and are poised to make eternal impact for the Kingdom of God.
