The Health and Wellness Ministry exists to promote a healthy lifestyle in mind, body, and soul. The ministry offers instruction and guidance to help persons lead a healthy life.

 

 

Inception Mental Health Awareness Ministry

Inception is Hunter Memorial AME church’s mental health awareness ministry, we seek to destroy the veil of secrecy and shame attached to mental illness.  This ministry was established because many people live their lives in the gaps of mental health wellness. Inception assists with learning the signs of mental illness and what method of recovery may be best for you or your loved one.

 

Inception does not provide counseling, but seeks to help with mental health awareness.  Our programs and workshops are designed to assist with identifying symptoms in youth, young adults, and our seniors, and to also teach the different forms recovery can take.  This ministry is headed by Min. Yedea H. Walker.

Physical Health

Exercise classes are available weekly to aid in achieving and maintaining a healthy body. Exercise classes take place on Tuesdays from 6:30 pm to 7:30 pm and Saturdays from 9:00 am to 10:00 am.
